Martin Botha is a South African blues/rock singer and songwriter that offers both solo acoustic and electric shows with his band BlackWater. Originated in the heart of Gauteng and is currently based in Pretoria. Martin Botha is known for his raw gritty vocals, heavy electric guitar riffs, foot stomping acoustic shows. The music often draws comparisons to the styles of Texas blues. Martin gained recognition for playing major festivals and events, sharing stages with some of the biggest names in the industry. His musical journey continued with the collaboration with producer Tim Rankin on the release of singles like Keep on Moving in 2020, Mirror of Me in 2021, and their Afrikaans single 21 April in 2022.
