Gigster is South Africa’s marketplace for booking live entertainment — musicians, bands, DJs, MCs, comedians, speakers, and the technical and creative suppliers that make events happen. We connect people planning events with vetted, reviewed talent, and we handle the part that usually goes wrong: trust and payment.

What we do

Clients browse talent, send an enquiry, and receive a quote. Once they accept, the deposit is held safely, a signed booking agreement is in place, and the balance is released to the vendor after the event. Reviews can only be left by clients who actually booked through Gigster, so the ratings you see are real.

Vendors get a professional profile, a quote builder, secure payouts, and Gigster Direct — tools to invoice and collect payment from their own clients, included with every account.

Why Gigster exists

Booking entertainment has always run on WhatsApp threads, unsigned quotes and deposits paid on trust. Gigster brings it onto one platform where the client’s money is protected, the vendor has a signed agreement to stand behind, and both sides have a record. We’re building trust and payments infrastructure for live events in Africa — starting with South Africa.

Who’s behind Gigster

Gigster was founded by Carina Bruwer, a South African musician and entrepreneur, and is operated by Gigster Online (Pty) Ltd from Cape Town. It grew out of years of first-hand experience with how live bookings are made — and how often they go wrong.
