What is Gigster Direct?
Gigster Direct is a turnkey back-office booking tool for event service vendors. You use it with your own clients (clients you sourced yourself — not from the Gigster marketplace). It handles quotes, contracts, invoices, online card and EFT payment, automatic and manual reminders, and the post-event review request — all in one workflow. Your client receives professional emails and a secure payment link and never needs a Gigster account.
How much does Gigster Direct cost?
Direct is included with every Gigster subscription. Free vendors get one Direct booking lifetime to try it out. Pro (R299/month) includes 3 Direct bookings per billing cycle. Pro Plus (R499/month) is unlimited. Gigster takes zero per-booking commission on Direct. On card payment the client pays a 4% surcharge (3% PayFast pass-through + 1% Gigster service fee). On EFT, Gigster earns nothing — your client pays you directly.
Do my Direct clients need to create a Gigster account?
No. Your client receives the invoice and booking agreement by email and pays via a secure link. They never need to sign up or log in. They can reply by email to chat with you directly.
How does the AI client-invoice addressing work?
When you create a Direct booking, paste your client's website URL or the email signature from their last message. The AI pulls the client name, company name, billing address, VAT number and contact details and pre-fills your invoice. You can edit before sending. This saves the typical 5–10 minutes of manually copying billing details from a corporate website.
Can I send a quote first, or do I have to confirm the booking immediately?
Either. "Send as quotation" mode emails your client a formal quote with an accept/decline link — they accept on a public page, and the booking auto-confirms. Or you can skip that step and create a confirmed booking immediately (useful when you've already verbally agreed with the client and just need to get the paperwork moving).
How do payment reminders work?
You set deposit and balance due dates when creating the booking. Gigster's system automatically emails the client a reminder 24 hours before each due date, and an overdue notice if the date passes. You can also fire a manual reminder from the booking page at any time. When a client pays by EFT, you mark the payment as received in one click and the system stops chasing.
Can a manager run Direct bookings on behalf of a vendor?
Yes. Managers (registered separately with the MANAGER role) can be linked to multiple vendor profiles. They switch between vendors via a sidebar selector and run quotes, bookings, payments and reviews on the vendor's behalf. Each booking is attributed to the correct vendor for payout purposes.
What's the difference between Direct and the Gigster marketplace?
Marketplace = you get inbound enquiries from clients browsing Gigster; Gigster takes a commission on the client total (10–15% depending on your tier). Direct = you use the same booking infrastructure with clients you sourced yourself; Gigster takes zero commission. Most active vendors use both. Direct is the better fit when you already know the client; marketplace is the better fit when you want new leads.
