Kass Naidoo is one of South Africa's most recognised voices in sport — a journalist, broadcaster and MC who broke barriers as the country's first female television cricket commentator at the age of 27. Born in Durban and trained at the Durban University of Technology, Kass began her career as a vacation reporter for The Mercury before producing for radio legend John Robbie at 702. Her television debut came during the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup for SABC Sport, where she quickly became a fixture on South African screens for five seasons of anchoring and commentary. Her broadcasting footprint has grown steadily global: international commentary debut at the 2006 Hong Kong Cricket Sixes, Pakistan Super League coverage in 2020, Sky Sports hosting debut for The Hundred (2021), SuperSport commentary and the 2023 Cricket World Cup opening match (England vs New Zealand). In 2024, she covered the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, and in 2025 the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup. Off the field, Kass founded the gsport Trust — an initiative supporting women in sport — and in 2024 received the Minister's Recognition of Excellence Award at the South African Sport Awards.
