Gumboot Dancers

An original and Proudly South African dancing act filled with energy and joy

Based in Western Cape

About

An energetic South African welcome by this stunning Proudly South African Gumboot Dancing act! This dance originated here in South Africa, as a way of communicating to each other by different stamps while they worked in the mines and as such is commonly used as a story based dance about labourers. As the miners wore wellington boots (gumboots) the dance is always performed in them, usually with overalls. As it is a South African act, this dance is perfect for welcoming your guests in from other countries, to African themed parties and Heritage Day.
